When will the rebuilding take place?

As announced on the 16th of June 2022, we are renewing the entire switching infrastructure. This work will take place during the night from Tuesday, the 25th of October 2022 to Wednesday, the 26th of October 2022, 2022 between 01:00 and 05:00. There will be several network interruptions of a few minutes each. All steps necessary for the replacement have been planned in detail and we do not expect any difficulties.

The rebuild of the switching infrastructure provides more redundancy

Instead of Layer 2 switching, the modern Layer 3 protocol BGP Ethernet VPN (EVPN) is implemented, which makes the detection and handling of faulty connections easier and more reliable. The hardware required for this is already installed and all tests could be carried out successfully.
